Qld; Toilet toddler dies in hospital

A one-year-old boy in Queensland, whose head became trapped under a toilet seat last
night, has died in hospital.

Police say CLAY BARLOW was rushed to hospital after the accident on a property near
the central Queensland town of Capella.

Senior Constable TIM LITTLETON of Capella police says the boy apparently wandered into
the toilet, lifted the seat and stuck his head over the edge of the bowl.

He says the seat came down, trapping his head under it and nearly choking him.

CLAY was found a short time later by his four-year-old brother who raised the alarm.

The family began resuscitation attempts and a rescue helicopter was summoned to airlift
CLAY to Emerald Hospital, where the child died this morning.
