BRISBANE, April 30 AAP - Behind the happy snaps of their three murdered children wereparents so hurt they could hardly speak.

Shirley and Vijay Singh today made their first public appearance since the triple murderof their children last week, in front of photographs of the slain trio in happier times.

Their only surviving daughter Sonia Pathik did most of the talking as the couple weptas they pleaded for public help to find the killer of their children.

Having flown back from Fiji after learning of the murders last week, the Singhs madea brief public statement before being led from a room in Queensland police headquarters.

Mrs Singh, who wore a red flower in her hair, shook uncontrollably as she begged forpeople to "please help" find who killed her daughters Neelma, 24, and Sidhi, 12, and sonKunal, 18.

The Fijian-Indian family was left devastated by the discovery of the trio in a spain the family's two-storey home at Bridgeman Downs in Brisbane's north on April 22 whiletheir parents were in Fiji.

"All I can say is my children meant the world to me, they were my best friends ...

please help ... please help," Mrs Singh said before being helped to her feet.

Mr Singh, who was wiping tears from his eyes, said they were totally devastated andhad refused to believe it was true until actually getting home.

"We love our children and we have lost our beautiful children," Mr Singh said.

"They are not here with us today and we are here and we are pleading with the publicto come up with information that would help us find who killed our children."

Mr Singh said the killer had to be "very cruel" with no love of humans whatsoever.

He said the close-knit family played host to lots of other kids who would sleep over.

Sonia spoke of the family's last night together on April 12, the night before her parentsflew out.

She said they always got together before a family member went away.

She said that night the children had teased their parents about their love of 80s musicand the family was making plans to go on a holiday together when they returned.

"It means so much - that's when we all were together," she said.

Police are yet to release the results of an autopsy on the Singh children, while theirparents are still not allowed to enter their house as it remains a crime scene.
